Project Care

Posted By: Kristen Davies #MFNWCares, MFNW Community Updates, Portland/SW Washington,

For many years, Project Care has provided gifts and needed goods for the White Shield Center. With the closing of the shelter this summer, the Service Committee has found two local charities to support this year.

Project Care is an annual opportunity to give back to the community while creating special memories for the children we support. Won't you join us?

2020 Charities

Boys and Girls Aid

boys and girls aid logoChildren in foster care need families who know their history and are invested in their future. The cycle of foster care is a brutal one that ends with children struggling as adults. To avoid this, we need to ensure their future safety and resolve their past traumas by connecting them with a forever family.

Our journey to end the cycle of foster care is not one we want to go at alone. Join us in building a better future for children in Oregon.

Janus Youth Programs

Janus youth programs logoJanus Youth Programs is a leader in creating innovatice, community-based services which enhance the quality of life for children, youth, and families. We work in partnership with others to create a safe and healthy community.

Since originating in 1972 as a Multnomah County demonstration project providing residential care for adolescents struggling with homelessness and drug abuse, Janus Youth Programs has provided a second chance for at-risk youth with few resources, and no place to turn for help.

Today, we have grown to become one of the largest nonprofits in the Northwest operating more than 40 different programs that span Oregon and Washington. An organizational philosophy grounded in collaboration defines who we are and everything we do.
