Thursday, December 11, 2025
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (PST)

Event Details

Understanding the rules around assistance animals is essential for every housing provider. This webinar is designed to help landlords, property managers, and onsite teams navigate the legal requirements with confidence and consistency.

We’ll break down the key questions housing providers face every day:

  • How many assistance animals can a resident have?

  • What types of animals qualify?

  • What documentation can you request—and what is off-limits?

Participants will receive a clear overview of federal fair housing protections, HUD guidance, and state-specific considerations. This session will also feature real-world, frequently asked questions from the Fair Housing Council of Oregon hotline, offering practical insight into the issues providers encounter most often.

We’ll discuss best practices for evaluating requests, avoiding common pitfalls, and maintaining compliant policies that protect both residents and your property.

Whether you’re newer to fair housing or looking for a refresher, this session offers clear, actionable guidance to help you handle assistance-animal requests accurately, consistently, and legally.
