City of Portland Candidate Fundraiser

On Wednesday, September 18^th Multifamily NW and Revitalize Portland Coalition hosted a Meet the Candidates Fundraiser for Portland Mayor and City Council candidates who we’ve endorsed in the November election.

As you are aware, in 2022 Portland voted to drastically change its city charter. Soon the 4-person City Council elected city-wide will now become 12 Councilors elected across 4 geographic districts, with 3 councilors per district.

Multifamily NW has endorsed a fantastic group of candidates running across all 4 districts of the city – and they need your direct support! The city of Portland runs a Small Donor Election program that ultimately allows for a nine-to-one match of funds for city candidates. At minimum, City Council Candidates must raise at least 250 individual donations from Portlanders (minimum $5 to a maximum of $350) to qualify for the first tier of matching funds. Mayoral candidates must raise a minimum of 750 individual donations from Portlanders. Here is a breakdown of the Small Donor Election Program tiers:

• A total of 250 qualifying donors can unlock the first round of matching funds, of up to $40,000
• A total of 750 qualifying donors can unlock the second round of matching funds, of up to another $40,000, or $80,000 total
• A total of 1,250 qualifying donors can unlock the final round of matching funds, of up to a final $40,000, or $120,000 total

The November ballot has a great many candidates flooding these pivotal races for Mayor and City Council. Please consider supporting our endorsed candidates TODAY and help these very qualified and rational candidates become elected for our inaugural 12-member city council in 2025.
