Event Details

If you are a current CAMT Student, this class is required and you will be registered automatically. Attendance is mandatory for all CAMT Designees.

Air Conditioning Maintenance & Repair

Duration: 12–15 hours of classroom training
Format: Usually taught over one full‑day session
(Full‑day sessions include two 15‑minute breaks and a one‑hour lunch. Half‑day sessions include at least one 5‑minute break.)

The Air Conditioning Maintenance & Repair course teaches participants the essential skills needed to maintain and repair common air conditioning systems. This training gives learners a clear, practical understanding of how AC systems work, what parts they rely on, and how to keep them running safely and efficiently.

Participants will learn how to check system performance, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make basic repairs. The course is designed to build confidence for anyone who works with or supports air conditioning equipment.

  • Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair Participant Resource Guide – Easy‑to‑follow explanations, diagrams, and examples.
  • Instructor Guide – Clear lesson plans and teaching support for consistent instruction.
  • Participant Online Practice Scenarios – Interactive activities that let learners apply skills in real‑world situations.
  • Instructor PowerPoint Presentation – Visual walk‑throughs and demonstrations to support learning.
  • HVAC Servicing Procedure Manual by Carrier (Abridged) – A simplified reference of industry‑recognized procedures and best practices.

Luke Jarmer is a seasoned maintenance professional in the multifamily housing industry. He has worked over 13 years on a variety of properties including garden style, midrise, and highrise. He currently works in downtown Portland for Coast Real Estate Services as a Building Engineer Manager. Luke works in all aspects of property maintenance and is especially skilled in maintenance organization, preventative maintenance, project management, training, and electrical repair. Luke is EPA certified in the use and handling of refrigerants and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University. He lives in Sherwood, Oregon with his wife and two kids.
