Event Details

The EPA has revised its Lead-Based Paint Renovation & Repair Regulations. It now requires property owners and management companies to implement lead-safe work practices and certification training for paid contractors and maintenance professionals working in pre-1978 housing. This certification course will cover:

  • Hazards of lead-based paint
  • EPA regulations regarding lead-based paint
  • How to determine if lead-based paint is present at a site
  • Containment procedures/safe and prohibited practices
  • Effective cleanup methods/recordkeeping
  • Training non-certified renovation workers

IMPORTANT: This class has a 2-hour mandatory, hands-on component. All participants must speak, write, read and understand English.

This course is designed for anyone wanting the certification. If your certification has expired, the EPA requires that you retake this 8-hour course. If your certificate has not expired, you are required to renew your certification every five years prior to the expiration date through the 4-hour RRP Refresher Course also offered by MFNW.
