In 2024 the City of Portland initiated massive changes to its city charter expanding the number of city councilors to a total of 12 – 3 for each district of the city. This year, only Districts 3 & 4 are up for reelection. Rank Choice Voting now applies to city of Portland elections (and Multnomah County), allowing voters to rank their first, second, third, etc. preferences. Keep in mind, although the process allows for up to six ranked choices, only favored candidates should be ranked, as even lower rankings can propel a candidate forward in the final results.

Multifamily NW has Multnomah County endorsements for the Board Chair and District 2 Commissioner. Beginning with the this Election, Multnomah County will now utilize Rank Choice Voting. Just like with the City of Portland, keep in mind although the process allows for up to six ranked choices, only favored candidates should be ranked, as even lower rankings can propel a candidate forward in the final results.

City of Portland Ballot Measure

No on Measure 26-267 This measure would amend Portland’s city charter to authorize the city council to create a participatory budget program for residents to spend 2% of the city's discretionary spending. Portland cannot afford an unelected committee to siphon scarce budget dollars ($16.4 million for the first year) while the city cuts services in a budget shortfall.
