Q&A with Randy Camat, Vice President of Marketing
Q: Tell us about your company’s journey and its core values.
Our PG Long story is one of passion, legacy, and deep local roots, with over 50 years in the floor covering trade. What started as a one person flooring business now spans eight branch offices, a satellite office, and a corporate office across Oregon, Southwest Washington, Eastern Washington, and Idaho. Branch offices are located in Portland, Springfield, Bend, Medford, Vancouver (WA), Spokane (WA), Tri-Cities (WA), and Boise (ID). A satellite office is located in Albany (OR) while our corporate office is in Vancouver, (WA). The growth of the company has allowed us to expand our reach throughout the Pacific Northwest and blend the agility of a small business with the capacity of a large regional provider.
We remain locally owned, community minded, and proud of the relationships we've built. Our team is dedicated to quality, service, and doing the right things the right way... every time.
Our PG Long culture and service philosophy are grounded in six core values:
-
Passion – Drives our commitment to excellence.
-
Truth – Guides our actions with honesty and transparency.
-
Accountability – We take responsibility for our work and its impact.
-
Teamwork – We work across teams and locations to support and serve our customers and community.
-
Ethics – We strive to do what's right to build credibility and respect (integrity).
-
Loyalty – Loyalty strengthens our relationships, fostering long-term success through trust, respect, and care.
Today we continue to thrive by staying true to our roots while embracing innovation and leadership in the industry. Whether you're a property manager, multifamily professional, or industry partner, you can count on us to deliver with purpose, professionalism, and heart.
Q: Why is supporting the association important to your company?
Supporting Multifamily NW is vital to us because it allows our company to give back to the communities and customers who have supported its success. It reflects a commitment to building stronger relationships, fostering community wellbeing, and investing in the industry’s future. Membership also brings valuable networking opportunities and credibility. Engaging in advocacy efforts, such as Capital Hill Day in Salem, has been meaningful, enabling us to help shape policies that protect both housing providers and affordability for Oregonians. Ultimately, what benefits the industry benefits PG Long.
Q: Can you share a recent success story or a particular project that exemplifies your company’s capabilities?
We have a few from different locations...
Our Mid-Willamette Valley team has recently launched a Service Committee in Salem, bringing employees and customers together to support local causes through impactful initiatives like diaper drives, fundraisers for paralyzed veterans, and school supply donations. These events not only serve the community but also strengthen internal and customer relationships.
Our Portland team also secured a key project with Colliers, redoing their office floors. This partnership stemmed from a successful referral-based project with Multifamily NW. This collaboration underscores our reputation for quality and reliability, earning repeat business and trust.
At our Springfield/Eugene location, we've proudly partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Central Lane for over eight years, donating all flooring materials and labor at no cost. This longstanding commitment reflects our dedication to giving back and being an integral part of every community we serve across all locations.
Q: Looking ahead, what exciting developments or plans are coming from your company?
