Q: Tell us about your company's journey and its core values.
HD Supply was founded as Maintenance Warehouse in 1974 in San Diego, California. Over the last 50 years, we have grown to over 12,000 associates, 2,000 delivery trucks, and 100,000 products serving as the supplier of choice for serving their communities where people live, learn, work and play.

Q: Why is supporting the association important to your company?
The entire HD Supply team is grateful for the chance to serve our customers and their residents, and supporting local associations, including Multifamily NW, is a big part of that. As a sponsor of Multifamily NW, our team participates in and helps execute events throughout the year. Whether it be networking in our industry, supporting career development and educational opportunities, and connecting with others in our community, our team is passionate about connecting at the local level and learning from Multifamily NW’s members.

Q: Can you share a recent success story or a particular project that exemplifies your company’s capabilities?
We were named the National Apartment Association's 2025 Supplier Company of the Year at this year’s Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding leadership in the rental housing industry. The honor reflects HD Supply's strong industry engagement and commitment to supporting our customers nationwide.

Being named Supplier Company of the Year is a tremendous honor and reinforces our belief that we are more than just a supplier—we are a trusted resource to the multifamily industry. This recognition affirms our ongoing dedication to helping our customers grow and to making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. We’re grateful to our incredible customers and associates across the country who helped make this achievement possible.

Q: What exciting developments are on the horizon?
One of the most exciting developments we’re looking forward to is Season 3 of Maintenance Legends, which launches in August. Through this program, the National Apartment Association and HD Supply shine a well-deserved spotlight on the maintenance professionals who go above and beyond every day, recognizing their hard work and dedication to the multifamily industry.

From August 2025 through March 2026, three maintenance professionals will win up to $5,000 in prizes each month, in addition to a trip to Apartmentalize 2026 in New Orleans.

Maintenance supervisors and techs are often the unsung heroes of our industry, and it’s been an honor to help shine a spotlight on their dedication. We’ve been truly inspired by the nominations we received in the first two seasons, and can’t wait to celebrate more legends in Season 3.

Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to get involved with MFNW?
We encourage anyone looking to engage with Multifamily NW to get actively involved, as it’s an incredible community. Participating in events and joining committees are excellent ways to build connections, contribute to the industry, and gain valuable insight into our industry. Whether you're new to multifamily or a seasoned pro, being involved offers continuous learning opportunities and a chance to help shape the future of housing in this region.
